Meet The Team

Dr. Norman always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from the time she was five years old! Her dreams became reality when she graduated from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. After working in multiple clinics, Dr. Norman became the owner of Ada Animal Hospital in 2019, and every day enjoys providing personalized veterinary care to her patients. Outside of work, you can find Dr. Norman enjoying all Idaho has to offer from paddleboarding, to wine tasting, to taking her own dogs for a stroll down the Boise Greenbelt. 

Dr. Melanie Turner grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia. She got her undergraduate degree in Biology at Virginia Tech and continued on to vet school at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation in 2008, she moved to Boise, Idaho. She is passionate about dentistry and behavior. She works hard to connect with her clients so that they can work together to keep their pets healthy and happy. Dr. Turner lives with her husband, Zack, and an Australian shepherd named Darby. She also has two horses, an appaloosa named Blue and a thoroughbred named Wally. She enjoys camping, backpacking, running, cooking, and gardening

I have worked with Dr. Norman for nearly  6 years, originally meeting in Cincinnati, OH I followed her out to Idaho after she purchased the practice in 2019. At the age of 19, I got hired on at a vet clinic and have remained in the field for nearly a decade.  Outside of work, my partner and I  have a active lifestyle- most weekends consist of packing up the dogs and doing day trips whether it be snow- shoeing in Stanley or floating the Boise River.

 I graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor's in Biology and Spanish and was looking to gain experience in the vet field. I have been with Ada Animal Hospital for a little over 6 months and it has been a privilege getting to learn and interact with all the fur babies. I am originally from American Falls, ID so I enjoy anything having to do with the outdoors and spending time with my 13-year-old, grumpy Shih Tzu, Oreo!

I've been at Ada Animal for almost 2 years and have loved every minute! I grew up in Star and got my first look into veterinary medicine back in high school, thanks to the West Ada Career and Technical Education program, and my passion for animals became a career.

If I'm not at the clinic, I'm probably booking my next flight to explore a new city. My weekends are typically spent in the mountains fishing and camping with my boyfriend and our Pit-mix pup, Floki.

I've been at AAH for almost a year and couldn't be happier. I've experimented around with a few career options but nothing stuck. This is my first experience in the vet field and it helped me find my passion and future career, which I am so thankful for! If I'm not at the clinic, I'm likely playing with my two blind kitties or looking at shelters online and dreaming of my next cat or dog.

Patient care, client communication, and technical procedures are a few of Hilarie's areas of excellence. Her love, compassion, and understanding for animals makes her an amazing advocate for our pets. Outside of work, Hilarie enjoys, exploring the outdoors, hunting down the best local cuisine, doing DIY crafts at home or styling hair behind the chair at UnDone salon.

Growing up I always loved working with animals. Working at Ada Animal Hospital is absolutely amazing, I'm blessed to say I love going to work! When I'm not at work, my husband and I love being outside whether it's camping, hiking, or fishing with our cattle dog, Frankie. Although since becoming a full time mama and working from home we have to slow a bit, Frankie is enjoying being the best big brother to our beautiful baby girl.
